What are the effects?

Stream and Landscape Aesthetic

Increasing imperviousness alters the visual character of streams and landscapes. The extent to which these alterations are judged as blighting or appealing depends upon individual tastes and preferences. But regardless of how the visual impacts of development are rated, it is undeniable that the natural values of streams and their watersheds are compromised or destroyed by urbanization.
